NFS PS: Reevaluating the Need for Speed |
Wednesday, 06.06.2007 |
The onlinemagazine 1UP re-evaluated together with Need for Speed: Pro Street Senior Producer Michael Mann all 15 titles of the NFS series (if you include V-Rally and the PSP-games). The series started 13 years ago and the popularity of the franchise has been steadily growing. Michael Mann talks about the games and gives some background-infos, which might be interesting for older fans as well as younger players, who didn't stick to the series since TNFS.

NFS PS: Possible Cover-draft emerged (Update) |
Tuesday, 05.06.2007 |
The taiwanese website nfspc.tw posted a first picture of the cover of Need for Speed ProStreet for North America and Asia. It's not sure if this is the offical Cover by EA, but apart from that it's too early to say, whether this can be a final cover of the game or if it will change before the release. There are still 5-6 months before NFS ProStreet finally ships...
Thanks to d89413125 for the info.
Update:
Since the picture is also shown at EA Singapur, it seems to be an official cover.

NFS PS: Krystal Forscutt the new NFS Girl? |
Sunday, 03.06.2007 |
According to the current issus of the Sunday Herald Sun of Melbourne the australian model and Big-Brother constant Krystal Forscutt, who turns 21 next month, will be one of the NFS Girls in Need for Speed Pro Street. She is one of the two starting girls, who launch the race at the starting line.
After a bikini shoot in men's magazine Zoo Weekly Krystal got invited by Electronic Arts to Vancouver, Canada, where she was photographed and filmed for her character in the new Need for Speed Pro Street. It's the first time that an aussie has had a character in an EA game.
Update:
We have some pictures of Krystal Forscutt, during her shooting at EA. The pictures which show her in the game are most likely photomontages and don't represent ingame-graphics.
You can find more pictures under the link Krystal Forscutt at the bottom.

NFS PS: Interview with John Doyle @ Game Informer |
Saturday, 02.06.2007 |
John Doyle, producer of Need for Speed Pro Street seems to be pretty talkative at the moment, because there's another interview with him on Game Informer. Here's a short extract:
GI: With this game you’re going to focus on daytime races, but will there be any nighttime races?
Doyle: There’s not any plan to have any nighttime races at this time. This is in the sunlight.
GI: No police?
Doyle: In this game there aren’t any police. In the past they’ve provided a pretty strong consequence—if you mess around too much, you run the chance of getting busted. This year that consequence is really driven by damage. This game is about your ability to build and drive fantastically powerful cars and that’s where we wanted to keep our focus.
GI: Say I’m ripping around in my Nissan and I take too tight of a corner, tear the hood off, wreck a bumper and scrape up things. Am I going to have to pay to repair that damage?
Doyle: There’s always a gameplay consequence that we want to build in. We have really tuned exactly what we’re going to do with that yet, but we want to make sure that damage has a little bit of teeth. Now the key for us is damage is cool. We want you to see this damage. We made sure this year that the AI is pretty aggressive and is going to make mistakes. You’re going to see some crashes but we want you to experience some epic crashes as well so damage is not going to be a punishment.
