| NFS 5: First Mod is coming! |

 There is still no editor for the 3D-model for Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed available, but despite of this, ALIEN Real is working on the first Mod (Modification) for this game. It is not finished yet, but it will contain these modifications:
- new tracknames
- new textures of the tracks
- new names of the kits
- different menu garage
- different starting video
- new loading-screen
- all cars new tuned (DTC Cars)
- all new cars buyable in the evolution mode
- new In-Game music
- new spareparts systems (kits)
- interesting optical tuning possibilities
The mod will be loved by the majority of car lovers, because ALIEN Real put a lot of effort in the tuning of the cars, because a modify of the 3D-model is not possible yet.
As soon as the mod is finished, you will find it here exklusive for NFS-Planet!

| HOT: NFS HP 2 for PC, XBox und Gamecube announced! |

 In an official press release Electronic Arts announced that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 will not be released only for the Playstation 2, but also for PC, XBox und Gamecube!
EA also announced the different modes, such as Quick Race, Single Challenge, Hot Pursuit, Championship and the new "Top Cop" Mode for Xbox, Nintendo GameCube and PC versions.
Hot Pursuit and the Championship contain over 30 race challenges, and after you finished it successfully, more new cars, tracks (there are more than 20 of it) and parts will be unlocked.
In the Multiplayer Mode you will be able to play with up to 8 players over LAN/Internet/Direct IP. In the other versions there will be also the loved Splitscreen-Mode.

ON THE PLAYSTATION 2, XBOX, NINTENDO GAMECUBE AND PC
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 25, 2002 – “Pull your vehicle over now!” EA plans to drive the highly anticipated Need For Speed™ Hot Pursuit 2 game for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system to PC, Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube™. All four titles will be published under the EA GAMES™ brand and will be available in late summer 2002.
Further building upon the franchises’ award-winning legacy, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 will feature classic open road racing with the added intensity of police intervention, as first seen in Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit. This year’s game allows the player to select from over 20 licensed exotics from the world’s most coveted manufacturers including the Ferrari 360 Spider™, Lamborghini Murcielago™ and Porsche® Carrera GT™.
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 will feature five different gameplay modes: Quick Race, Single Challenge, Hot Pursuit, Championship and an all-new “Top Cop” mode for the Xbox, Nintendo GameCube and PC versions. This brand new mode allows players to actually “be the cop” by taking on a career as a high-speed highway patrolman by competing in over 30 events. Hot Pursuit and Championship modes also consist of over 30 challenging race events that if completed, the player will be rewarded with new cars, tracks and high performance upgrades. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 will feature over 20 tracks, with up to 12 miles of road and environments ranging from the lush forests to the sandy beaches.
The PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube versions will also feature a multiplayer mode with two-player split screen racing. The PC game will support up to eight-player multiplayer racing via LAN/Internet/Direct IP.
EA Seattle is developing Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 for the PC, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. The PlayStation 2 version is being produced by EA Canada and developed by Black Box, a Vancouver-based development company. | NFS 5: 4 neue Addon-Cars |

 Today there is an update of 4 new Addon-Cars for Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed, 2 of them from our affiliate NFS-Racer. On the whole all cars are very well done and they are really a download worth:

| MCO: Update 6 & Features |

 The upcoming Update 6 for Motor City Online will be finished soon, and there are many new features planned. Most of them we already mentioned in our last news, such as the new track Goose Pointe, the Team Trials, Classified Ads, Player Index, and new cars and parts.
But what is really new is the so-called Hub View! This is an alternative view of both chat and racing lobbies. It shows the cars of the 4 players with the highest level, who are actually online!

| NFS 6: PC Version? [UPDATE] |

Within the last few days there were many rumours about a possible PC Version of the game Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. Now the EA member of staff Cadillac announces inofficial that there will be a PC Version...only the date is not secure.
"HP2 will be available for the PC. I do not know when.
I'll come back when I have this information"
Update:
Cadillac wrote once again a short statement as an answer to a post of a user who wants a PC version of NFS Hot Pursuit 2:
"Keep yer pants on...
Plans are for this to happen."

| NFS 6: Rumours cleared |

All the hopes of a possible PC Version for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2, because of the rumours the last time, now got cleared. The mistake with the additional platforms for NFS HP 2 on the website of EA Norway has been reasoned in a mail. It was just a mistake from the webmaster.
"I am sorry to inform you that our webmaster has not done his job correctly, and that the different platforms are not correct for NFS." [...] " I can gurantee that the information on the norwegian site are incorrect. Again, I am sorry for this, but mistakes happen."

Our affialite NFSWorld.org writes that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 for the Playstation 2 will be released a few months later. The actual releasedate is 3rd September 2002.
So the releasedate of the game in Europe als has to change, but Electronic Arts Germany has not changed its release list yet.
Additionally it is interesting to know, that the description at Electronic Arts Norway (we wrote about it) - that NFS HP 2 will also be released for PC - now suddenly disappeared, and now there stands that the game will only be released for the PS 2. If it was a mistake of the webmaster, or they are thinking about making a PC version may be never solved...
