NFS WO: All the World's a Stage - Episode 2 Thursday, 26.11.2009
NFS World OnlineAfter the » first episode Art Director Eduardo Agostini shows in his second article All the World's a Stage the world in the upcoming Need for Speed World Online. Since World Online is a mixture of the worlds of NFS Carbon and Most Wanted, it's always interesting to see how the developers make progress, comparing the old and new worlds:

NFS World Online

Additionally Agostini gives some interesting insights into the development of the game:

Visual customization is looking very solid. Some great work has been made on making a user interface that is intuitive and PC-friendly. I can’t wait to see what can be done when certain limitations of past NFS’s have been lifted.

The new Cop Charger looks awesome. It’s a sign of things to come for our new cop fleet. Looking forward to see more of the new cop design translated over the various cop vehicles.

NOS is sexy!! There's still some work to do but it's on the right track. Hope you guys agree when you finally see it for yourselves.

[...]

Yes, there will be a day/night cycle in World Online. We don’t have too much to show on that front yet as there’s still plenty of work to do, but the goal is to show strong variety in our skies and lighting. It’s a delicate balance of maintaining high quality and variety while catering to a wide range of PC specs.

The User "SETH Alpine" made already the first steps and tried to import the CONCEPT ALPINE A415 in NFS Shift, as seen at the » NoGripRacing Forum:

Alpine   Alpine   Alpine

The first pictures look quite promising, although there is still much work to do to improve stability. If you want to try it yourself, you can find the tool 3DSimEd under the following link. Unfortunately the program costs 25 British Pounds, but you can download a 30 day evaluation version:

(Thanks to » Sinister for the heads up.)
