| NFS Shift Community Patch v1.05 |

 The unofficial NFS Shift Community Patch v1.05 was released, which fixes several bugs in Need for Speed Shift. Please note that this is not an official patch by EA, it's a community-driven patch by the NFS fans at the  NoGripRacing boards and assembled by matt2380.
The patch works with the packed as well as the unpacked version of NFS Shift, but requires a freshly installed Patch v1.02.
You can find the changes of the patch here:
- Workaround for the brake bias being applied incorrectly by game UI. It unfortunately disables the slider but does allow the game to use the default value
- Reduced input lag and add damper/friction to wheel FFB
- New controller profiles to change wheel ffb (also fix bug in DFGT pedals settings)
- Disabled grip reduction on Karrussel (banked corner at Nordschleife)
- Reduced volume of tyre squeal
- Enable reverse driving to double available tracks (for hotlapping and multiplayer with friends)
- Disabled intro movies
- Unlocked pre-order bonus cars
- Reduced speed blur so you can still read dials at high speed
*** New since last version (1.031):
- Added JDougNY's R34 Skyline and Impreza WRX STI brake disc glow fixes
- Corrected "balktorque" typo in drivetrain upgrades to "baulktorque" to fix drivetrain not upgrading properly
- Corrected uneven ride height settings for Audi R8LMS, Aston Martin DB9
- Corrected typo in Honda S2000 rear right spring range
- Corrected uneven Corvette Z06 front right spring setting
- Added "qualifying" fix to make faster AI drivers start at the front of the grid to reduce first corner pileups
- Corrected syntax error in global track LOD file
- Corrected upgrades to force inclusion of stage 4 turbo upgrades in Works conversions
- Changed statistics files for Historic (patch 1.02/DLC1) cars to correctly reflect stage 2 and stage 3 turbo upgrades
- Corrected error where AI DLC1 (patch 1.02/DLC1) cars would not produce engine sounds in unpacked games

| Next NFS Hot Pursuit DLC announced: Super Sports Pack |

 Apparently a new premium DLC pack is in development for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit! As Gamerzines reports, Electronic Arts announced the new DLC, which will contain brand new cars, events and achievements/trophies.
The ‘Super Sports Pack’, which is the fourth piece of premium DLC to be released so far for Criterion’s racer chaser, contains six new cars, including the Bugatti Veyron and Porsche 911 GT2, plus at least twelve new events across both the cop and racer careers.
Here’s the full list of cars included:

A price and release date for the pack is still to be announced, though we’ve been told to keep an eye out on NeedForSpeed.com for details.

| NFS Hot Pursuit Showcase-Challenge |

Finally, the second part of our anniversary competition is online! After testing your knowledge of Need for Speed in our Quiz-Challenge, this time we're looking for the most beautiful Autolog photos in our NFS Hot Pursuit Showcase Challenge, taken in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit!
For this purpose we opened our NFS Hot Pursuit Showcase, where you can upload your screenshots! Just play NFS Hot Pursuit, enter the photomode and shoot a cool photo. Then log-in at ![](\"images/dot_pfeil_yellow.gif\") Autolog on the Web and download your picture, which you can upload to our showcase.
A jury will pick the best picture of of each category and among them will give out these prizes:
- 4x NFS Hot Pursuit Package (3 Poster, NFS HP Cup, Keystrap)
- 1x NFS Hot Pursuit Standee + Keystrap, Sticker
- 2x NFS Hot Pursuit Big Box Set à 3 + Keystrap, Sticker
Additionally we give out 10 NFS Hot Pursuit keystraps among all participants!
The challenge runs until December 19th 2010 and after that the jury will determine the best pictures. The community rating has no influence on your chances to win. The winners will be announced shortly after that.

After the first PC-Patch for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, which addressed problems with Multicore CPUs and weather effects, now the next patch is in the works!
The following issues will be resolved with the next patch:
Groundcover Graphical Errors
When alt-tabbing, the groundcover would start to corrupt, causing random tree images to appear all over the screen.
Controller Configurations
On some machines controller configurations that have been set up for wheels, pads, etc are not saving correctly to a configuration file. This is now fixed.
Rare crash when entering the Career map screen
The game sometimes crashes when entering the Career map screen quickly after booting the game.
Rare crash when streaming graphical data
Fixed.
Steering response reported as having large dead zone
There was a deadzone. This is now fixed.
Player car engine volume too low
There remains an outstanding crash affecting players with AMD / ATI Radeon graphics cards if they have over-written the AA settings in the control centre. This occurs as you pick an event in the map screen prior to the car select.
Thankfully our friends at AMD/ATI have informed us that this will be fixed in the next release of AMD's drivers (10.12) around the second week of December.

| One Million Challenge Reminder |
