Short Description: When the game won't install. Please close before the installation all background processes excluding the following: Windows XP / 2000 Required Processes --------------------------------- system smss.exe csrss.exe winlogon.exe services.exe lsass.exe svchost.exe Explorer spoolsv.exe To do so just push STRG + ALT + ENTF and go the the register "Processes". Secondly you can try to turn off the DMA-Mode of your CD-ROM drive 1. Click on "Start -> Settings -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager" 2. Klick on the "+" sign near the entry "IDE-Controller" 3. Click with the right mouse on the channel (Primary or Secondary) where your DVD/CD-ROM drive is connected and choose "Properties" 4. There check which transfer setting is used and you may change it once (PIO/DMA). 5. Confirm with "Ok" 6. Now restart your PC Additionally you can test the following: Restart your PC. Before the Loading-Screen of Windows appears, push "F8" and start Windows in the Safe Mode. Now try to install the game here. If it works, just restart your PC and play in normal mode.
