| NFS World to feature Dolby Axon Voice Chat |

 EA and Dolby announced today to bring the voice chat technology Dolby Axon to Need for Speed World before the December holiday season. Dolby Axon is a high-quality voice chat, especially for gamers, which delivers a clear communication by improved audio chain processing (noise suppression, echo suppression).
Stephane Grefford, Producer of Need for Speed World: "In Need for Speed World, we’re able to continually update the game with new technology to provide the best MMO racing experience for our players. Working with Dolby Axon, we can give gamers a seamless channel of communication enabling in-game collaboration towards becoming the top racer. We’re excited to be the first title in North America to incorporate Dolby Axon to help enhance our players’ overall racing experience."
This can be quite interesting, since Dolby Axon also features Surround sound voice chat (when is is implemented in the game), which means you hear the voices of gamers based on their position in the game.

| NFS Hot Pursuit at the Gamescom |

 Electronic Arts announced its lineup for this year's Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. From August 19th to 22nd you have possibility to check out the upcoming Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, as well as NFS Shift for the iPad.

| NFS World: Open Beta announced! |

Everyone who didn't get a chance yet, to partiicpate at the closed beta of Need for Speed World, now can try out the game as well before the release: the OPEN BETA has been announced!
Starting on Friday, Juli 2nd at 10:00 PST, the Open Beta starts for everyone, who signed up on  world.needforspeed.com.
You have time until Monday, July 5th to drive on the streets of NFS World.
A nice detail: the accounts from the recently finished closed beta don't get wiped and you can continue from where you left in the open beta!

| Need for Speed Hot Pursuit announced! |

 The new NFS game was announced on today's EA press conference at the E3: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit!
The new NFS returns to its roots, fast pursuits between exotic race cars and police, but this time you can sit behind the wheel of a police car and challenge your friends! You can play through full careers as both a cop and a racer - solo or connected.
A new feature is Autolog, an online network which connects gamers all over the world and enables you to compare your racing stats and gives you automatical personalized gameplay recommendations from your friends.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is going to be released on November 16th, 2010 in North America and on November 18 and 19, 2010 in Europe, available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

| NFS-Planet Easter Egg Search 2010 |

 The annual easter egg search starts again at NFS-Planet! The easter bunny hid 10 easter eggs, just like the one you can see to your right.
Just browse through the site and if you can find at least 5 eggs, you get the chance to win one of the following prizes!
Whereever you find an easter egg, just click on it and it will be marked as "found". Of course you'll need a NFS-Planet account and you have to be logged in. Once you could find at least 5 eggs, you automatically participate in the raffle where you have the chance to win one of the following prizes:- 2x NFS Shift for PS3
- 4x NFS Shift T-Shirt
- 5x Bad Company Sticker
- 3x NFS Shift Sticker
- 3x EA Keychain
The easter egg search is only open to egg hunters until April 7th 2010. The winners will be announced a few days later.

| NFS World: Second Closed Beta this Weekend! |

Need for Speed World is currently in the betaphase. The first beta-event took place for invited participants at the beginning of March, but this weekend the beta continues: starting on Friday, Marth 19th @ 4pm (GMT) until Monday, March 22nd @ 7am (GMT)!
The second closed beta will feature almost twice the number of racers as the first had, so prepare yourself for plenty of competition! Who already had the luck to participate at the first closed beta, is invited to participate in the second closed beta as well! Watch your email accounts for invitations.
The first beta had a limited number of features, level progression and content, since the developers are testing the progression and variables to ensure quality data. As the beta program progresses, more features and contents are being unlocked. Please note, that between the beta-events all data on the server is cleared, so you'll have to create a new driver in the second beta.
Here's a summory of changes, which were made since the last beta:
We’ve made some changes to the leveling pace, Lucky Draw tables (much fewer One More Laps!) and event unlocking. We’d like to see more 8 player races, so we’ve tweaked matchmaking and the number of events that unlock at each level. We’ve also fixed some crash and time out bugs and provided a way for you to send us crash logs if you run into anything new. For more details on the changes, see the Need for Speed World forum. Please give it all a try and keep letting us know what you think and logging those bugs!
If you aren't among the lucky one's yet, who can participate in this beta-event, don't worry as there are more beta-events to come! If you haven't signed up for the beta yet, go straight to the official NFS World website and sign up!

| NFS Shift: Exotic Racing Series announced! |

 Electronic Arts announced today another add-on for Need for Speed Shift: the Exotic Racing Series, containing seven hot new cars, a new race track and over 50 new events - created specifically for these cars including time challenges, endurance and sprint races!
While the Ferrari Racing Pack was only exclusive for the Xbox360, this time the Exotic Racing Series will be available for 10 USD on Xbox360 an Playstation 3. If the add-on will ever make it to the PC is not known yet.
The Exotic Racing Series Pack will contain the following cars:
1. Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
2. BMW M1 Procar
3. GUMPERT apollo
4. Honda NSX
5. McLaren MP4-12C
6. Maserati GranTurismo S
7. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss
The new track Riviera is available in four unique layoutse, each with daring corners, multiple blazing straight-aways and a few hairpins that will push these cars to the limit. Players that complete the package will receive an additional 125 Microsoft gamerpoints or 5 PlayStation Trophies as a reward for undertaking various exciting challenges.
The Exotic Racing Series for Need for Speed Shift will be available on March 18th, 2010 on Xbox360 and Playstation 3.
