| Rumour: The end of the Need for Speed Series? |

 Currently there is a rumour going on, that Electronic Arts might cut the Need for Speed series. Read this, posted on 1UP:
Not more than a month after the release of Need For Speed: Undercover, the Electric Playground is reporting that Electronic Arts may be cutting the franchise entirely. The videogame web show claims that future titles in the series have been canceled. EA director of communications Colin Macrae provided Electric Playground with the following comment:
"We're working through a process on people, products, and facilities at EA and don't have any announcements today."
Undercover, the most recent entry in the long-running franchise, was received fairly well but didn't crack the top 20 in the NPD sales charts for the month of November.

I wouldn't believe that nfs is dead until I see it.
But I'm not sure it will be a good thing if it continues living. Undercover was a bad remake of MW. Pro Street lacked fun. Carbon was just another way of selling Underground 2.
For the sake of the next nfs series I hope they will stop this idiocy and revive the good old days of Hot Pursuit 2, underground 1 or even most wanted!

Rockstar? Lol i wouldnt want my name soiled by an ageing franchise.
I reckon codemasters should give it a crack, as GRID was cool, awesome damage but shitty engines lol :P.
Now combine with nfs...GRID style damage + NFS engine sounds * (thinks of a game with good cops...umm...err...errrrr...GTA maybe?) style cops and freeroam and maybe a new dev company
= hopefully...a better game next time.

well yes have to agree that these new ones just don't have that charm anymore... the only games past hp2 that i have really enjoyed are u2 and mw. Undercover seems to me like a sequel to mw (and you know most sequels are never as good as the original). I hope the nfs doesn't end , but if it is trades to another gaming company i hope its rockstar or something like that.

yes that's it, i couldn't agree more. i think the series' falling down begun with most wanted.. when we are waiting for a real street racing game they made an hollywoog action wannabe. it's a shame though they made on undercover too. so many cars cutted off, so few customizing features etc etc.... the game didn't meet expectations unfortunately

holly shit,hope thats only a rumour,aldo the last few games were worse then they look,but life without NFS isn't good,how good or bad is it,i hopo i wount discontinue
