Racing games have to feel as realistic as possible nowadays, which is even more important when it comes to authentic engine- and tiresounds. For Need for Speed the audio engineers drove a BMW i8 over the Ebisu Circuit, to record with the electric engine the most realistic tire-sounds, without being drowned by the sounds of a fuel-powered engine.
