NFS 6: 25 new Screenshots! Wednesday, 16.01.2002
On the site of Electronic Arts Germany there has been released 25 (!) new screenshots to ther upcoming game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2! But EA has not linked some pics correctly, so that we can only show you 19 of the great new pics. You can see some new cars on it, like the Ferrari 360 Spider, a McLaren and the Porsche Carrera GT. On one pic you also can see some great reflexions in the water on the street, although the whole graphic still didn't get better. :(
But as you can see on the right side, NFS 6 also has got a new logo.

EA Racing: Now it's official Wednesday, 09.01.2002
At the official site of EA Racing the rumours about not closing the site become true. The online platform for NFS 4 and 5 remains open:

EA Racing Remains Open!

We are happy to announce that we will continue to maintain the EA Racing web site and matchmaking service. Over the recent holiday, we determined that there is still a large community that visits our service and our former plan to close EA Racing has been aborted while we evaluate alternatives.

We will continue to monitor the High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed products and also move forward with the development of our exciting, new persistent world racing game, Motor City Online.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We'll see you on the racing circuits!

Sincerely,
EA Racing Staff

Stays EA Racing open? Tuesday, 08.01.2002
At the boards of Need for Better Speed the well-kown EA represantative Cadillac has posted a thread that so many fans still want EA Racing not to be closed, and he says that EA Racing won't be closed, so that it will be possible to go on racing NFS 4 and NFS 5! A member named DC_Targa (formerly 76Targa) has wrote a fax to AG, where he mentions what EA is going to do, and as it seems this was also a reason for the decision of EA not to shut down EA Racing. Let's hope that this information is true and that we will be able to go on racing NFS online... :)

NCOPS Tuesday, 08.01.2002
The most important project Need for Speed Community Online Play System, called NCOPS has bee moreless finished and the latest version 1.0 has been released. Basically you just can add your IP and view other races with their creation time, which were loaded from the server. But there isn't no acknoledgement to let the user know, if the game is still running, and there is no communication between the hoster and the client. The developers say that there will be much more features added soon, like a chat and so on. Let's hope they will be added soon...

MCO Goodies for January und February Saturday, 05.01.2002
Within the next two months there should be some changes at Motor City Online. But nobody has to download another patch, because all that will be installed directly on the server. There will be new cars and parts, and some things they hope build in: "Parts-As-Prizes" in multiplayer races, a "Cooperative Racing Mode" where you can drive in a team and collect points and the so-called "ghost car".
