NFS UC: Carlist Rumours & Microsites |
Tuesday, 16.09.2008 |
Yesterday surprisingly a carlist for Need for Speed Undercover was revealed. We got confirmation from EA, that this carlist is definitely a fake (just as expected), but therefore two new Undercover Microsites will go online tomorrow:
One of them is the "Tri-City Car Lot", which will unveil the car list of NFS Undercover on a weekly basis with 6 cars being rolled out each week. Since there are already some cars known from screenshots and videos, you may won't be suprised when you see the new cars in the first two weeks...just be patient. ;)
The second microsite is the "Tri-City Gazette", fictional newspaper which will feature news stories based on the world of Undercover and give you some insight into the game.
So stay tuned for more. :)

NFS UC: Possible carlist available? (Update) |
Monday, 15.09.2008 |
Only two more months until the release of Need for Speed Undercover...and suddenly a complete carlist shows up.
The german onlinemagazine of PC Games published a list of cars, that will be playable in the game and claims that the list is provided by Electronic Arts. Actually, this is quite surprising, since EA always published only "pieces" of the carlist, but never all cars at once...and even these bites were often published exclusively by selected onlinemagazines.
Anyway, this is the supposed carlist of NFS Undercover:
- Aston Martin DB9
- Acura Integra LS
- Acura RSX
- Audi RS5
- Audi S3
- Audi Le Mans Quattro/R8
- BMW M6
- Bugatti Veyron 16.4
- Cadillac CTS-V
- Chevrolet Camaro Concept
- Chevrolet Camaro SS
- Chevrolet Cobalt SS
- Chevrolet Chevelle SS
- Chevrolet Corvette C6
- Dodge Concept Viper GTS-R
- Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupé
- Ferrari Enzo
- Ford Escort RS Cosworth
- Ford GT
- Ford Mustang GT
- Ford Shelby GT500
- Honda S2000
- Infiniti G35
- Jaguar XK
- Jaguar XJ-220
- Koenigsegg CCX
- Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
- Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
- Lexus IS350
- Lotus Elise
- Mazda RX-7
- Mazda RX-8
- Mazda Mazdaspeed 3
- Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T
- Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 10
- Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren
- Nissan GT-R Proto
- Nissan 240 SX
- Nissan 350Z
- Nissan Skyline R34
- Nissan Silvia
- Opel Speedster
- Pagani Zonda F
- Plymouth Hemi Cuda
- Plymouth Road Runner
- Pontiac Firebird
- Pontiac GTO
- Pontiac Solstice GXP
- Porsche Cayman S
- Porsche 911 Turbo
- Porsche 911 GT2
- Porsche 911 GT3
- Porsche Carrera GT
- Seat Leon Cupra
- Subaru Impreza WRX STI
- Toyota Supra
- Volkswagen Golf GTI
Actually, I wouldn't take this list too seriously, although PC Games is usually a quite reliable magazine. We will let you know, as soon as we know more...
Update:
We got confirmation from Electronic Arts, that these cars are (as expected) not the official cars of NFS Undercover. More information about that here!

NFS UC: First iPhone Screenshots & Video (Update) |
Wednesday, 10.09.2008 |
The fact that NFS Undercover is being developed for the iPhone isn't something new (we talked about it here), but yesterday Apple announced to concentrate on making iPhone and iPod a gaming platform. With this announcement more details about the mobile version of NFS Undercover are coming up, like the first 4 screenshots of Need for Speed Undercover for the iPhone!
Compared to "regular" mobile games or handheld games the graphics look really good. We'll see if the gameplay can keep up with this...actually it can be quite fun to steer with the iPhone's motion sensors ;)
You can find the screenshots under the following links.
Additionally a recorded movie of Steve Job's presentation is available at Youtube, which show the iPhone/iPod version of Need for Speed Undercover.

NFS UC: Open Letter to NFS Developers |
Wednesday, 10.09.2008 |
Need for Speed is still one of the most popular racing games in the E-Sports scene, but as the game's direction is (of course) mainstream and a little bit arcade, it's getting harder to use the game for professional tournaments. Since the release of Need for Speed Undercover is coming up, Alan from Team RoX sums up some of the disadvantages of the game in an open letter to the NFS developers.
Among the list of things, which would make the life of professional NFS racers easier, he suggests the implementation of replays (like in NFS Porsche), improvement of the online connection and reconsideration of "drafting". You can find this letter in our discussion boards, which is supported by professional E-Sports racers like Alan, Slivr, crovex and many more. You can add your accordance in this thread:
