NFS World: Create a Track Contest |
Friday, 21.01.2011 |
EA started a new Create a Track Contest, where you can create your own track in Need for Speed World! Well, to be specific, you have to define a route in a large NFS World map. The entries are judged by Marc De Vellis (NFS World Producer) and Azlan Mustapha (NFS World Designer) and the best track will be created and implemented in the game!
The participation is quite simple. Paint your route on the large map of NFS World using an image editing program and send the picture to NFSDrew.
You can find more details about the Create a Track Contest here:

Shift 2 Unleashed: IGN tried Night Driving |
Wednesday, 19.01.2011 |
The onlinemagazine IGN tested night driving in the upcoming Shift 2 Unleashed and sums up their impressions in an interesting article worth reading.
Excerpt:
Every track in Shift 2 can be played at night, but some of the tracks are out in the middle of nowhere, with very little lighting. The track is pitch black, except for what's illuminated by your headlights.
Because there's so little lighting, your competitors become your allies. They can light the way with their headlights to give a clearer view of the road ahead. I found this interesting strategy of purposefully staying a few cars back so I could watch the taillights of the AI drivers and read the course by their movements. I've never experienced something like this in a racing game before and it's enough to make Shift 2 noteworthy.
