Shift 2 Unleashed: Patch for digital Downloads |
Wednesday, 11.05.2011 |
A few weeks ago the first patch for Shift 2 Unleashed (PC) was released, but unfortunately only for owners of the DVD/disc versions of the game. Gamers who purchased the game as a digital download couldn't use this patch.
Now a different version of the patch was released, specifically only for the digital downloads of Shift 2 Unleashed. The Release Notes stayed the same.

NFS The Run: Q&A |
Friday, 06.05.2011 |
A new Q&A about Need for Speed The Run was published on the official official Need for Speed website, answering some questions about the new Need for Speed:
Why use the Frostbite 2.0 engine?
One of our goals with Need for Speed The Run was to set the bar for visuals higher than any previous Need for Speed, and working with DICE’s revolutionary Frostbite 2.0 engine, we’re able to do that. The visual quality in Need for Speed The Run is unmatched among action racing games.
Three games in one year is a lot, what happened to the once-yearly Need for Speed?
Black Box was the company that put Need for Speed on the map, and has been developing Need for Speed The Run for more than two years already. Even though we’re more than six months away from release, we have some groundbreaking gameplay footage to show our fans at E3. Currently, there are three studios working on Need for Speed games, with Black Box and Criterion focusing on action racing experiences, and Slightly Mad Studios working on adrenalin-pumping simulations.
What can we expect from Autolog in Need for Speed The Run?
Autolog is back and better than ever. We’ve found plenty of new ways to encourage friendly – but heated – competition between you and your friends. Autolog is now a staple to the franchise and a feature we’ll continue to grow with each Need for Speed game.
Can you tell me anything about the story?
All we can say at this point about the story is that you’ll be drawn into an illicit, high-stakes race with no speed limits, no allies, and one goal: making it to New York first.
You said this year Need for Speed goes to the next level, what does that mean?
This year, we’re pushing the limits of everything you’ve expected from a Need for Speed game, with a gripping storyline, awe-inspiring visuals, and the most intense racing experience you’ll find anywhere.
How good are the car physics in Need for Speed The Run?
The development team is hard at work to create road-hugging physics that are in line with what you expect from an action racing Need for Speed game.
Well, so we will see the first gameplay scenes at this year's E3 Expo.
Additionally EA Games Label President Frank Gibeau talked at the last financial conference about Need for Speed: The Run, where players "weave through dense urban centers, rocket down icy mountain passes and navigate narrow canyons at breakneck speeds, all the while evading a relentless police force prepared – and willing – to use lethal force to take you down".

NFS World: Latest Patch introduces new Fords |
Thursday, 05.05.2011 |
This week's update of Need for Speed World introduces - apart from several bugfixes - two new cars: the Ford GT and the Ford Escort RS Cosworth, is available for purchase with SpeedBoost.
History proves that the Ford GT was one of the most dominant forces in racing and now you will be able to decide for yourself. This technologically advanced machine is a modern-day version of Ford's most successful endurance racer of the 60's that swept the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years in a row.
Also making its debut with its stylish “whale tail” rear spoiler is the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. This turbo-charged hot hatch is one of the best of its time. Huge downforce combined with a true four-wheel-drive system that helps you stick to corners like glue makes this rally racer an exhilarating drive.
New Features:
-The Safehouse has been updated to feature an improved user interface
-The Ford GT has been added to the game and is available for purchase with SpeedBoost
-The Ford Escort RS Cosworth has been added to the game and is available for purchase with SpeedBoost
Bug Fixes:
-Made improvements to the game client’s stability
-Fixed an issue that caused an insufficient SpeedBoost error to appear when purchasing an item that has the same value as the player’s wallet balance
-Fixed an issue that caused an insufficient SpeedBoost error to appear when attempting to redeem gifts
-Fixed an issue with VOIP that caused microphone input to be voice active upon booting, despite ‘Push-to-talk’ being the default setting
-Fixed an issue that prevented the ‘Cops Taken Out’ value from counting after destroying a cop car with a Pursuit Breaker
-Fixed an issue that prevented the Friends chat option from functioning
-Fixed an issue that prevented the VOIP HUD from appearing when two players invite each other to a Group
-Fixed some cut off text on a number of screens
