NFS Most Wanted: Continue Multiplayer with GameRanger
Wednesday, 13.07.2011
Gamers mostly react with incomprehension and disappointment about the upcoming shutdown of the online services of Need for Speed Most Wanted, as the game is still on of the most beloved Need for Speed games.
An alternative to the EA servers is the free multiplayer client GameRanger, which supports multiplayer matches for over 600 games - many of which have been abandoned by their original providers.
Skott Kevill, the head of GameRanger told VG247 the following:
“GameRanger added multiplayer support for Need for Speed: Most Wanted on April 7, in anticipation of these shutdowns. There are about 5,000 multiplayer games of NFS:MW played each day on GameRanger now.
There will be a thriving community waiting. This won’t help the console players, but will at least help the PC players given that Need For Speed: Most Wanted is still quite popular (contrary to EA’s generic claim).”
