Need for Speed World has its first interactive trailer, where you can build your own story:
Beginning with a starting location, viewers can choose between two of the most popular districts, Rockport or Fortuna. From there, viewers have their pick towards which car they prefer to virtually “race” in: Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34) or the Toyota Supra. Viewers are in the driving seat as each car showcases a different perspective of the race.
Using actual game-play footage, this unique interactive trailer showcases beautiful licensed cars, endless customization components and a massive open world which stretches over 100 miles of driving pleasure.

You can get a first impression of the cars in this trailer:
The Signature Edition Booster Pack will be available for download on December 20th, 2011. There are no details about costs yet, or if it'll come to the PC, but we will keep you informed.
The first path for Need for Speed The Run was released today and brings the game to version 1.3.
The update is already available for Playstation 3 and will be out shortly for Xbox 360. A patch for PC is in the works, but there is no release date yet.
Here is a list of the updates in the patch:
Improvements to reset behavior in Single Player:
When players go off track, they will be reset back onto the track (similar to the reset behavior in online multiplayer races) instead of at the last checkpoint. Crashes will still result in a reset to the last checkpoint.
We’ve modified the reset behavior for a number of tracks in The Run where resets seemed too close to the main race route. This should reduce some frustration for players where they’ve suddenly been reset by just barely going off course.
Multiplayer - reduce the severity of racer to racer collisions in multiplayer races and jarring reactions by the game camera.
Multiplayer - Fix to address a connectivity issues sometimes seen when attempting to join multiplayer sessions on PS3
Multiplayer - Fix for load and connectivity issues being experienced on PS3.
Autolog - fix an issue where the Autolog friends list would sometimes appear empty and Speedwalls would display ‘Your Friend’ instead of the proper friends name.
Since the snow is missing in Europe, you can get some winterfeeling now in Need for Speed World! The Winter Wonderland makes a return and turns the Gold Course into a snowy landscape with christmas music and ski ramps.
Additionally you can encounter several Christmas decorations in NFS World, especially in Downtown, Silverton, University and at the docks. Santa Clauses, snowmen, candy canes and Christmas lights will get you in the mood for Christmas.
Meister and Need for Speed teamed up and created an exclusive NFS Collector's Edition watch to commemorate the launch of Need for Speed The Run!
Coming from a background in the automotive world, Meister was excited to begin working with their favorite race inspired title. As the official timekeepers of the professional drifting series, Formula Drift, Meister's passion for cars is prevalent. They embody their passion by using the same carbon fiber material found on the fastest race cars, in many of their unique watch designs.
The NFS logo will be featured on the carbon fiber dial face and come packaged in a custom Need For Speed box. The timepiece will be powered by a Swiss Ronda movement which includes date, chronograph and 24hour indication functions. A black butterfly clasp and carbon fiber leather band keep the watch held securely to the wrist. A majority of the Need 4 Speed Ambassadors are being used for promotions, but a special reserve has been set aside for the most die hard fans that are available exclusively through MSTRwatches.com.
Need for Speed The Run gets new content in form of the Old Spice "Smell Faster" Packs! Unfortunately the pack is only available in USA and Canada, but hopefully such promo DLCs might also find their way to Europe sometime.
The Old Spice "Smell Faster" Pack is available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC and introduces three special Old Spice rides: Mercedes SLS AMG, Ford Mustang Boss 302 and Nissan Silvia S14A.
Apart from the new cars the pack also contains the new Old Spice Challenge Series with three races appropriately named "I'm on a Horse", "Champion" and "Swagger".
