NFSU2: Neues Interview |
Mittwoch, 20.10.2004 |
Das Onlinemagazin TeamXbox hat ein Interview mit Kristian von Fersen über Need for Speed Underground 2 geführt, in dem er hauptsächlich über die Tuningmöglichkeiten und Spielmodi spricht:
Auszug:
What other eye-catching mods can we expect to see when gamers floss into the Showcase Mode?
Kristian von Fersen: Showcase Mode is a really cool addition to Underground 2. We took the idea of the magazines we had in Underground 1 and then said "why don't we let the player choose what they think would make a good cover shot?" This is what Showcase Mode is all about and you can take pictures of your car for the cover of well known magazines. Once you arrive at the photographer's location, you are able to cycle between a number of cameras as well as drive your car around to set up the perfect shot. Once you set up the shot you like, you can "showoff" by activating your hydraulics or opening your hood, doors or trunk. You can then take the shot and see your car on the cover of the magazine along with a beautiful model. You'll also get some bank awarded to you based on the visual rating of your car.
[...]
Please give us a rundown of what modes will be included in the online mode.
Kristian von Fersen: Online mode will consist of 2 primary modes; ranked games and unranked games. Unranked games can be played in any car and no stats are tracked in this mode. In ranked games, there are 6 modes available to play. These are Circuit, Sprint, Drag, Drift, Street X and Underground Racing League. For ranked games, you must use a specific "ranked" car for each game mode which you are able to custom tune. The goal of ranked games is to achieve "Elite" status in each online game mode. Upon completion of each race, players will receive points which contribute to their rank. After achieving "Elite" status, the player will receive an icon which can be seen by other players in any game room. The players that manage to achieve Elite Status will be the best racers in that mode and truly deserve bragging rights.
How many Live gamers will able to participate in wheel-to-wheel races?
Kristian von Fersen: Need for Speed Underground 2 will allow up to six players to compete online simultaneously. There will also be a variety of tunable options in online to customize the racing experience. Players that prefer a more traditional Nitrous system can turn off the Race Breaker, or turn off collisions if they're not into having opponents win by cheap tactics.
Are there any plans for downloadable content?
Kristian von Fersen: I can't confirm anything yet, but let me assure you we're doing everything possible to try and include some cool downloadable content for Underground 2.
