NFS 6: 15 new Screenshots & Preview Freitag, 23.08.2002
The onlinemagazine Computer and Videogames.com could test the X-Box and Playstation 2 version of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. There is not much new to report, but the testers were very astonished of the Playstation 2 version.

Moving over to the PS2 version was like taking your first drink of water after five dry days in the desert. We chose the same game mode and car to try and get a decent comparison, and boy were things improved. Hot Pursuit 2 on Sony's console has a completely different feel, a far greater sense of speed and solidity than it's Xbox counterpart - in fact we found it far more enjoyable overall. It might not have looked quite as sharp, but it came across as a much better put together racer.

The difference is easy to explain, because the Playstation 2 version is developed by Black Box Games, but the X-Box version is developed by EA Seattle. The works on the X-Box version started much later, which may would explain the backlog, which is described in the preview, but the problem is that EA Seattle also develops the versions of NFS HP 2 for PC and Gamecube. So we can just hope the best, that it will be finished in time.

There are also 15 new screenshots fomr the X-Box version:
