Criterion Games entwickelt Need for Speed-Titel

Gerüchteküche brodelte schon lange, aber jetzt ist es bestätigt: Criterion Games, bekannt für die Burnout-Reihe, wurde mit Entwicklung eines neuen Need for Speed-Titels betraut, wie Electronic Arts' COO John Pleasants mitteilte.

"We've taken the Burnout team and combined it with our Need For Speed franchise. So we now have that in our favor because that Burnout team is probably one of the more online-centric and notably high-quality game developers that we have out at Criterion."

Trotz des neuen Entwicklers versicherte EA's CEO John Riccitiello, dass die beiden Franchises weiterhin voneinander getrennt bleiben sollen:

"I don't think you can fold Burnout into Need for Speed, because a lot of people like Burnout. We don't have a plan right now for a separate major launch on Burnout, because the team doing it is working on a revolutionary take on Need for Speed."

"Revolutionäre" Herangehensweise? Dafür wurde leider keine Erklärung geliefert. Name und Releasedatum des neuen Titels stehen ebenfalls noch in der Sternen.

Das lässt mal wenigsten auf ein schönen Action Aracde Racer hoffen! Mal gucken welche richtigung sich EA das nächste NFS vorstellt!

revolutionär vllt. in dem sinne, dass es sich von den letzten nfs teilen abhebt, indem es akzeptabel gestaltet ist und einigermaßen läuft...
