NFS-Planet

Interview with Hans-Jörg Brand, Product-Manager of Electronic Arts Germany (September 5th 2002)

Is it possible to adhere to the releasedates of of NFS HP 2? (25th Oktober)
Originally the game should be released in spring2002.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 will be released on all platforms on October 25th.

What differences will be set between the console and pc versions?

Four teams are developing the game. There can be some small differences, because no development team is able to make four times exactly the same version.

Will there be an editor for cars and/or tracks?

At the moment such an editor is not planned.

May it be possible to use a different editor, such as the ZModeler

I do not know this editor, so I cannot say any details about it.

What systemconfiguration will NFS HP 2 need?

P3 600 Mhz
64 MB Ram
32MB graphics card (Geforce)

Do you want to say something to the community?

Many thanks that you supporting us and we want to thank all fans who never lost interest in NFS within the long pause.

UPDATE (September 9th 2002):

Will there also be a demoversion of NFS HP 2 for PC?

A PC-Demo is planned, but I cannot say anything about a releasedate.

Recently there was a rumour that the Hot Pursuit Mode will not be available in the multiplayer mode. Is that true?

No, that's really just a rumour. As far as I know you can play on the PC with up to eight players, including the Hot Pursuit mode. On the console I even played the HP mode with 2 player splitscreen.

Will the multiplayer mode run over EARacing, and if so, will NFS 4 and/or 5 be stopped?

For the internet-multiplayermode we use the GameSpy-technology for the matchup.
