NFS 7: Demo Date |
Tuesday, 30.09.2003 |
As it seems, the demoversion of NFS Underground will be released at the end of October. As far as I know there will be again two demoversions, an international one and an australian demo. The official australian NFS Underground site still says Oktober 6th, so the delay may only affect the international demo. We will see...
Update: The releasedate of the demo also changed on the official australian NFS U site. Now the demo will be definetely released late October.

NFS 7: Bad News for Onlinegamer |
Tuesday, 30.09.2003 |
Spinout just received an answer of Electronic Arts and posted at the NFBS boards:
Game Collision will remain on for all game modes. However, there are penalties applied for hitting other players in Drift Mode, where the player will lose their current drift score (not total score).
Also, it's quite difficult to actually spin another car out with our
current physics system. The other areas we have added anti-cheating measures to are: Time Limits imposed on players attempting to delay race end, Time limits for cars under a certain speed to ensure nobody "parks" their car in narrow roads. We also detect players attempting to drive backwards and spin them back around.
Also, please note these measures only apply to Ranked Games, so players that just want to go have some fun can play Unranked games.

Info: EA Racing staying up for extended period |
Friday, 26.09.2003 |
EA Racing, the platform for online races with the games Need for Speed: High Stakes and Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed should have closed. As the EA Representative 'EACadillac' writes at the NFBS board, EA Racing will run at least longer than October, 1st.
"Hey gang... reports I am seeing now indicate that EAOR server as they are in their current state will live on after October 1st. How long after October 1st is not clear yet. We are getting close to resolution with the whole thing. I'll be back here first when I know something."
