NFSU2: Passport to the Underground, Part 1 |
Thursday, 30.09.2004 |
The onlinemagazine IGN floods us with infos about Need for Speed Underground 2.
Yesterday they published an article, where they talk shortly about the general aspects of the game and on the next page is an interview with Kristian von Fersen, the Associate Producer of NFSU2. He talks in this interview about the ideas behind the design of Coal Harbor, the industrial part of town.
IGN: What was the impetus for the design of Coal Harbor? I mean, is this supposed to be a Seattle-like working part of town?
Kristian von Fersen: Yes, Coal Harbor is supposed to be the working, industrial section of town. Tucked away across the water from the City Center, it has a gritty look that's very different in feel from all the other neighborhoods. We also wanted the driving experience to feel very different so you'll find some very narrow closed in areas that are a complete departure from the rest of the city. At the same time, Coal Harbor has some of the most open areas with regards to driving choices. Design inspiration was pulled from many different areas, but a lot of it was from local industrial and commercial locations.
Additionally IGN published some new screenshots. I added the new ones to our screenshots-section:

NFSU2: Total Customization, Part 1 |
Monday, 27.09.2004 |
The onlinemagazine IGN published an interesting article about the tuning possibilites in Need for Speed Underground 2. There should be twice as much possibilities than in its predecessor.
The list of parts you can customize is staggering. You can modify the spoilers, hoods, roof scoops, headlights, tail lights, side mirrors, exhaust pipes, side skirts, and more. Each one has dozens of choices, and switching between them is just a matter of clicking on the desired item and scrolling through until you find the right one. Once you have selected the parts you want -- and this will take some time, since you want to create a car that looks consistent to a design -- you'll want to go a little deeper.
Fo the showcase mode it will be possible to put fat speakers in the trunk and even an LCD screen in the middle.
In addition to this article they ale uploaded a bunch of new screenshots:
