NFSMW: Interview mit Larry LaPierre

The onlinemagazine TalkXbox made an interview with Larry LaPiere geführt, the Senior Producer of Need for Speed Most Wanted. He talks about his thoughts of the game, where the series is heading and much more...

Here are some interesting questions:

Based on feedback garnered since the game’s release, and the thoughts of team members, what are some of the major enhancements and features we should look for in the next Need for Speed game?

LP - You can count on a couple things. There will be some brand new cool ways to play and anything you thought was good or fun will be better.

Why were cops left out of the multiplayer modes in Most Wanted? Should we expect to see multiplayer modes using the cop pursuit mechanics in the next NFS title?

LP - When you develop a game system you have finite HW resources to work with. So what we end up doing is having to make specific trade off calls to achieve different tings in different modes. Cops are a very expensive experience, so sometimes we just can’t get them to fit in all the modes.

Will there be downloadable content for Most Wanted? If so, when should we expect that to come out?

LP – We are looking into the possibility of DLC for a future release.

NFSMW: Hidden Options Tool (Update)

It is not that new, but therefore it is small and handy: a tool which lets you change the hidden options in "Most Wanted", such as

- menue language
- motion blur
- particle system

Update: v0.7 is now online. With this version it is possible to install NFSMW even when NFSU is already installed (a known bug of NFSMW).

Additionally I uploaded the Profile Creator for Need for Speed Underground 2 by FormatC, which was missing in our collection.

By the way: FormatC is working on a new version of his "ProfileCreator & ControlPanel" for NFS Most Wanted. There is already a version 1.06 available, but it causes problems with NFSMW v1.3. As soon as the bug is fixed you'll be able to download the program here.
