| NFS Shift: New Screenshots |

 The official Need for Speed Shift website features two new screenshots of the game. The pictures show the Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R and the Nissan Silvia S14.
The Nissan Silvia has proved to be one of their most popular cars with 1994's S14 being the king of the range. In this screen here you can see a range of customisation options with some elements of the car left as stock such as the wheels while other areas have been tuned. Look closely at the rest of the image there are some very obvious hints to the track location and a few cars we've not spoken about yet.

| NFS UC: New Expansion-Packs coming? |

According to the german onlinemagazine Xboxdynasty.de EA is going to release new Add-Ons for Need for Speed Undercover on April 23rd.
The extensions should include the Challenge Series Expansion and the Boss Car Bundle, but there are no details known about that. Also, it's not sure if the pack (assuming it's not a fake) comes only for Xbox360 (and supposedly PS3) or also for PC.
We'll see tomorrow, to what extent we can believe this rumour. We'll let you know, as soon as we know more.

The Q&A with Need for Speed Shift Producer Jesse Abney on Needforspeed.com goes into round two. Here is a short excerpt with the most important facts from the interview:
Are there cops in the game?
No. The Need for Speed franchise is now comprised of three pillars that represent Action, Simulation, and Arcade. SHIFT is an event based track racing simulation. Slightly Mad Studios are not creating a sterile simulator however, rather a fun and authenticate race designed to replicate the True Driver’s Experience.
Is the gaming being released on PS2?
No. SHIFT is a ‘next-generation’ experience and the tech requirements of Slightly Mad’s simulator exceed the power available with the PS2.
Can you tell me if Need for Speed SHIFT will include the use of NOS in the cars?
Nitrous will be a performance component to upgrade. It will also be tunable, but you should expect it to operate more like professional racing and not action racing.
Does Shift include Formula 1 cars too?
We can’t answer this just yet as we’re not talking about the car lists at the moment but we do have some surprises and firsts for the Need for Speed series planned. Expect to hear about some of these very soon!
Will Drift be available as a race event in SHIFT?
Yes, Drift is a key aspect to our career event structure and is supported by the physics engine.
Will be in Need for Speed: Shift any licensed custom parts?
I believe so yes. It should feature a long and extensive list of aftermarket parts that mirror real world professional racing.

| Rumour: Michelle Cifuentes a new NFS Girl? (Update) |

The latest Need for Speed games always had pretty girls on the cover, on your side during the story or at least at the starting line at the beginning of the race. If we can believe an article on Speedhunters the model Michelle Cifuentes will be a new Need for Speed girl!
At the moment it's not clear, in which game she might appear, since this year with Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Nitro and Need for Speed World Online three NFS games are going to be released.
We will keep you informed.
Update:
As it seems Michelle Cifuentes isn't an actual Need for Speed Girl in a NFS game, more a NFS girl on racing events and promoting the NFS games. This also explains why she is wearing a NFS Undercover top on the picture at Speedhunters. ;)

| NFS WO: Screenshots from Beta-Version |

 The onlinegame Need for Speed World Online is in its beta phase at the moment and some screenshots of the game popped up:
As you can see Need for Speed World Online doesn't care much about graphics - it has other values, since it is a free 2 play online racer. Depending on the success in Asia the game might make the jump to the western world. Currently the release in Asia is planned for summer 2009.

 The annual easter egg search starts again at NFS-Planet! The easter bunny hid 10 easter eggs, just like the one you can see to your right.
Just browse through the site and if you can find at least 5 eggs, you get the chance to win one of the following prizes!
Whereever you find an easter egg, just click on it and it will be marked as "found". Of course you'll need a NFS-Planet account and you have to be logged in. Once you could find at least 5 eggs, you automatically participate in the raffle where you have the chance to win one of the following prizes:

- 5x Mirror's Edge Soundtrack

| NFS UC: EA De-Authorization Tool |

 Need for Speed Undercover contains the SecuROM digital rights management technology (DRM), which forces you to activate your game over the internet. You could "authorize" your game on up to five computers at the same time. If you made changes to your hardware, the system required a new authorization. If you reached five activations, you had to contact the EA support to free your slots.
Now Electronic Arts released the De-Authorization Tools, which allows you to manage your authorization-slots and can de-authorize them.
