Need for Speed World seems to have a severe server outage, causing the game to be offline for more than 24 hours now.
Since yesterday the official website simply states "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Thank you for your patience.". The NFS World team is aware of the problem, but there is no official statement yet and it is unknown when the servers will be back online.

Update 18:00 p.m.:
The servers are back online and Need for Speed World is up and running again. Only the official website and SpeedAPI are currently down for scheduled maintenance.
Update 21:30 p.m.:
The official NFS World website is also back again.
The gaming platform Steam created this weekend an NFS Franchise Sale, where four Need for Speed games are drastically reduced in price.
