NFS Shift: Screenshots of Hakosuka Skyline 2000 GT-R |
Wednesday, 13.05.2009 |
Speedhunters released a couple of screenshots from Need for Speed Shift for race lovers: pictures of a Hakosuka Skyline 2000 GT-R!
You'll be happy to hear that the Hakosuka driving experience in Need for Speed SHIFT is a full simulation of the real car -- complete with physics driven, functioning suspensions systems. When you drive this car in-game it IS a proper virtual recreation of the real car, no joke. We've collaborated with the development team responsible for the PC simulations GTR, GT Legends and GTR2, so you know the pedigree of this driving experience will be second to none.
You can find the screenshots here:

Rumour: Michelle Cifuentes a new NFS Girl? (Update) |
Thursday, 09.04.2009 |
The latest Need for Speed games always had pretty girls on the cover, on your side during the story or at least at the starting line at the beginning of the race. If we can believe an article on Speedhunters the model Michelle Cifuentes will be a new Need for Speed girl!
At the moment it's not clear, in which game she might appear, since this year with Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Nitro and Need for Speed World Online three NFS games are going to be released.
We will keep you informed.
Update:
As it seems Michelle Cifuentes isn't an actual Need for Speed Girl in a NFS game, more a NFS girl on racing events and promoting the NFS games. This also explains why she is wearing a NFS Undercover top on the picture at Speedhunters. ;)

NFS UC: Shelby Terlingua Mustang Driving Impressions |
Sunday, 26.10.2008 |
Recently, the Formula Drift series came together in Irwindale, California for their final run this year. During the event, Rod Chong from Speedhunters.com had the pleasure to take the Shelby Terlingua Mustang with its special Need for Speed Undercover outfit for a test drive through Los Angeles:
"The first thing that I noticed when piloting the Mustang, was the amount of attention that it garnered. Perhaps it was the bellowing noise emitted from its dual side-pipes or perhaps it was its aggressive looks... whatever the case, it certainly turned heads on the road. I also got the sense that the big Need for Speed logo on the side of the car was making people have a second look at the machine. Was I about to start screaming down the highway at 200 miles per hour? No, not really.... but I certainly was challenged to street race enough times!"
Check out his article with lots of pictures, also showing some real Shelby classics like the Daytona Coupe:

NFS UC: The creation of the Porsche GT2 |
Saturday, 27.09.2008 |
Andy Blackmore, the Senior Vehicle Concept Artist presents at the Speedhunters Blog his works on the Porsche GT2, which also has been used for the cover of Need for Speed Undercover.
Speedhunters is a website from the developers of EA Black Box, which gives an overview of the motor sports happenings around the world, with focus on Need for Speed-like events.
During early production of Need for Speed: Undercover, we started looking at the cars our characters might drive and also which car would end up on the cover. It’s been a while since a Porsche has been featured on a Need for Speed cover, so we decided to use the iconic Porsche 911 for this game.
This called for a unique body kit for the 997 GT2. The brief was to create an ‘aggressive, but tasteful’ kit. Yes, those were the very words! As Senior Vehicle Concept Artist, it was my job to turn that 'brief' into something visual....
Andy Blackmore explains the way from the Body Kit Design, over modelling to the paintworks on the car. In this article you can find some concept drawings, how the Porsche GT2 was created. If you want to know, how the GT2 looks on the NFS Undercover Covers, take a look at our boxart-collection.
