Additionally some new information popped up at the official boards:

So the demo of Need for Speed Carbon will be out much earlier than the NFS Most Wanted demo was - the NFSMW demo for PC was released on November 11th.

What it'll contain is still being determined, but it'll give you a solid look/feel of what the core elements of the game will be.

Regarding Customization we may can expect that the will be no "star system".

Still early to tell, but as far as I know, no star system. Let me give a bit of context on game design. Most aspects of games (especially for NFS) are included if they fit or make sense to the overall concept.
The rating aspects of Underground games was included because the style aspect is core to that racing scene. Customization was scaled back in MW because the racing and cop evasion was the core concept, not customization. So where does Carbon fit in this? You'll have to wait and see.

And finally, because we still get questions about that: YES there will be police in the game, but not the same way as in Need for Speed Most Wanted. :)

Whenever we have something new you'll get to know here.

(Thanks to Renifer for the infos.)
