NFS C: PS3 vs. Xbox360 Saturday, 09.12.2006
NFS CarbonAs the onlinemagazine Playstation Universe (PSU) reports, the Playstation 3 is too new to unleash all the potential it has. Most current games are not using the full power of the PS2, mostly only 20% of their possibilities - only the future games will be able to take advance of the PS3 power:

Quote:
Recently Glenn Entis, Vice President and Chief Visual Officer at Electronic Arts discussed his feelings about the PlayStation 3 console.

When asked, how do the PS3 and Xbox 360 match up? Glenn responded:

"The whole industry knows it's been a challenge; the PS3's a very complex piece of equipment. On one hand it's a challenge, on the other hand there's tremendous potential in that box. I think it's going to take developers a little while to figure out how to unlock that power.

We've got games coming out now where we feel we've hit maybe 20 per cent of the potential of PlayStation 3. We know the power's there, but like any new platform it's going to take us a little bit of time to unleash it.

Was it more complex than we were expecting? Yes, probably; there were some challenges that we didn't expect. We've got tremendous confidence long-term that it's going to be a phenomenal games machine."

So to find that EA has only tapped into 20% of the PS3's power, you look at games like Fight Night Round 3 with amazing graphics and realistic facial animations, it makes you wonder what the PS3 will have in store for us in the future. Like Glenn said,"...We know the power's there, but like any new platform it's going to take us a little bit of time to unleash it."

Additionally the onlinemagazine Gamespot wrote an article about the difference between the Xbox360 and Playstation 3. With mouseover-images you can compare yourself the Xbox360 and the PS3 - also NFS Carbon:

ok ok

Lets just agree to disagree becoz he's right, when it comes down to it PC will always own any console, and besides my computer performs better than a 360 becoz i designed it too.

now to let this rest

I'm not buying neither console, but I wouldn't say that x360 is better than a ps3. It's too early to say that. About the screen shots - I like the ps3 better actually!
@†TYRANICK†™ I think the x360 also has quite a lot of unleashed potential, you know?
Anyways - peace to you all and use a f*cking PC instead of a crap console

dunno where you all pull all this crazy info from but the ps3 is not twice as powerful as the 360. the ps3 a little more poweful on the cpu but the gpu in the 360 is technically more advanced also the 360 is alot better at texture rendering and dynamic lighting where the ps3 has good general purpose power which is difficult to transmit to games.

im no fanboy if anything i prefer the nintendo wii but im sick of people not reading the techincal information correctly and beleaving sonys PR bull shit about how there console is the only true next gen console when the 360 is more than a match for the sony machine this time around.

here we go ¬_¬

Listen dude im not out for a pointless arguement but here are the plane facts:

http://www.gadgetell.com/im...%20specs%20chart.png

The PS3 if you like it or not...is at least twice as powerfull as a 360, its just thats that

And i do admit 80% seems like alot, but never the less im sure the 360 can do alot more with its hardware.

Im guessing ppl at the moment are pissed that the designers acant tap into all of the ps3's features yet, none the less for us brits we shall have to wait and see

what a load of shite there is no way the ps3 is that much better than the 360 and you tyranick talk just as much crap as well kicking the 360`s ass which comparison where u looking at cause it was not the one posted or the ones on the net floating about if you think the ps3 looks better maybe you need glasses..

for starters the 360 scerenshots looked better than the ps3 especially the lighting effects and textures.
as for there is still 80% to be tapped its a bit over the top and definaly an excuse for the game looking worse than the 360 version.
its well know that gemes look better the longer a console is out but not 80% better. if this is true about the ps3 (which i highlt doubt) then what have we got instore for the 360 as most 3rd party developers are using the 360 as their leading sku`s for game development and just porting to the other consoles and to pc so no matter what ea say its only an excuse for how poor the game looked on the ps3...

so...?

The games are only at 20% potential and they are still kicking 360's ass? LOL!!

Well lucky for us brits its another like 4 months until it comes out here, all the time to tweak it and get that other 80% utilising perfectly =D!!
