| Next NFS will be NFS: Undercover! (Update) |

 EA's Chef John Ricitello reveiled some details of the next Need for Speed at the William Blair & Company's annual growth stock conference: The game is called Need for Speed: Undercover and has a very strong mission structure, similar to "The Transporter". Additionally it has a huge embedded storyline, so it gets a narrative touch.
Since Ricitello was pretty disappointed with NFS ProStreet, we can hope that EA will learn from its mistakes. According to Ricitello the Need for Speed Dev-Team in Vancouver had been working for eight consecutive years on a 12 month development cycle. Last summer the team was split and now there are two teams on a 24 month cycle. Unfortunately NFS:Undercover will be only 16 months development time, but the next year's NFS will be a full two-year development cycle.
"We were torturing a very talented group of people up in Vancouver, which makes it harder to be as innovative every year. So, I think we are going to get better from here.
"I'm confident that Undercover is a much better game than Pro Street, and I expect that from this point forward they will do a lot better."
So, we will see what we can expect from NFS: Undercover. Maybe this name is only a working title, but the mission-based gameplay sounds quite promising. Already in Need for Speed Porsche you had to solve missions as the Porsche test driver, which kept you on the road. I think NFS: Undercover could be quite fun, if you have to achieve missions and get a good story behind it. :)
Update:
Electronic Arts just confirmed that Need for Speed: Undercover will be the title for the next Need for Speed, as well as there has been restructuring of the dev teams. Stay tuned for more...

can anyone tell me if there will be milestone missions cause if u wreck ur car 2 much when u have "dodge" cop roadblocks than ur not gonna get anywhere if u total after so much damage when u have get like 10 roadblocks like in NFS most wanted.

well i just hope that it has Toyota Supra  , because the game is granteed to shine in the spotlight so i cant give it more expections for now!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good
I hope that it will be like most wanted or something like that. It will be great if it is going to a lot of cars. I am from Croatia, from Istra, so for me the best cars are zastava and volkswagen.

prostreet really put me off. i loved the nfs games up until prostreet. hopefully nfs undercover can bring me back.
apparently its loosely based on the transporter. if so, and combined with most wanted style gameplay it will be good.

about Undercover
I think it will be a great game and i hope that the customiztion is much larger than in ProStreet......i wonder if they decided to keep the damage?

Trust... and pacience
Your hopes and dreams will be fulfilled guys..... they promised us this year a lot more action, which in my opinion defines the whole game. About cars....I think there will be enough cars for everyone, but I don't think the tuning will play a big part in this game, considering the fact that it is an action game now, but it will be enough. About that teaser trailer they have presented us...I truly believe that it is not undercover' s teaser, it's just a teaser to the movie which road to take, or something like this. If you remember pro street's teaser, it was for certain it's trailer, so all we can do now is wait too see how the real game looks like. My personal opinion is that overall, Need for Speed Undercover will be a great game for everyone.

Finally...
...It's about time we got some news on this game! All I can say is I hope they don't do another one like Pro Street. It was fun but MW and UG were better and if this game can top those two then it will be the best NFS ever! I wonder if this will be the last NFS they make?

questions...
there will be a lot more cars right? and the game doesn't need a huge requirement for pc right?
i think it's better than the previous nfs, and i hope so much that in this new nfs game, we can be chased by the police like in nfs-mw and race on the mountain pass (canyon duel) like in nfs-carbon.
o ya, forgot to ask, is there any aston-martin in the game? if there is, i would buy this game for sure!!! ^^

it looks like we'll be doing the same thing as mia in MW which means being undercover as a street racer we'll be chased by cops and everything hopefully they bring back the free roam world

about nfs under cover
i think that nfs under cover will be better than nfsmw and nfsps because i played both games and i did like most nfsmw.nfsuc should be better and free from darkness....

So if get it right then in undercover u play as a cop undercover as a street racer = no cop chases and at the end of the game you will be probably be chasing the bmw m3 with ur C6. I bet that the character's name will be cross or something.

Bit behind here :P, new about this last night heh.
Well the title "undercover" does give a strong hit towards being a cop...maybe their will FINALLY be a pursuit mode in single player, that rocked on online for carbon but was a bit...lacking.
Lets hope we get a broader variety of cars...all with different engine sounds and upgrades...I hated the past couple of games REPEATING engine sounds...so gay...a 69 charger does not sound the same as a barracuda OR a chevy 71...wake up EA ¬¬
Anyway, we aint getting the game this year, thats for sure.

man i was waiting for news about NFS 12 for so long,and finaly itshere,and im truly happy to hear that they gona develop game 2 years with 2 development teams,and if story line gona be close to movie than i realy cant wait till the game comes out,but for now,il be waiting for some screenshots

I was right about the thing, that the next nfs is going back on the street, but now I fill that there is not going to be any custom parts ..
