Next NFS from Criterion confirmed for 2010

The Need for Speed series is changing and made successful relaunch with Need for Speed Shift. Also the latest Need for Speed Nitro for Nintendo Wii and DS, which was released last week, received some good critics.

We already

wrote about a new NFS which is being developed by Criterion Games. As

Joystiq reports, this new Need for Speed title is planned for a release in 2010. EA Games label president Frank Gibeau mentioned: "In recent years, we failed to put adequate resources behind the franchise and, as a result, quality suffered". And: "Next year's Need for Speed has been under development now for some time at our award-winning Criterion Studio."

There are no details about this upcoming Need for Speed yet, but as Criterion developed the successful Burnout series, it's likely that this title will go more towards arcade and crashing...we will see...
