Shift 2 Unleashed / Gran Turismo 5 Comparison Video Tuesday, 05.04.2011
Shift 2 Unleashed
MotoGamesTV posted an interesting video, showing a direct comparison of genre-leader Gran Turismo 5 side by side with Shift 2 Unleashed.

The video shows the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 around Monza in cockpit view, the audio switches from one title to another:

What do you think? :)

It's loud because it's supposed to be like that. Have you EVER raced in a pro car like those? I did, and it feels like that. The helmet does NOT absorb the entire acoustic noise coming from outside, thus you can still hear the loudness of the muffler and the exhaust which are "opened" to gain extra performance. I have raced in many cars, like Audi's A3 and Mazda's RX8 and the loudness of the car is a little bit low than Shift 2. GT5 sounds are way too plastic, it's like you're racing in a sedan with a stock exhaust, that's why it doesn't feel you're there. Shift 2 while not being technically a simulator, it stills delivers a LOT of realism in the cockpit interior sounds

Let's Race!

The sound in NFS Shift is kind of too loud and it's annoying, as I can see, it's the same story with NFS Shift 2. I'm no sound expert, but I have my share with editing hours and hours of audio, and I can tell that they recorded those sounds (in fact the whole game) too loud, and the audio signal is overflowing the audio channels (in my own words, but I'm sure there's some fancy technical explanation to this). It's kind of stupid, so GT5 has a better sound. You can't really feel a game until you play it. But NFSS2 it's more of a show-off game, with all that blur and bells and whistles. GT5 on the other hand is a serious driving/racing simulation that concentrates on accuracy of the data, vehicles, tracks, and performance tuning. I can't tell which one is better, I'm a NFS fan, and GT5 is Sony PlayStation 3 game, so I would drive much better in NFSS2. So it's NFSU2 for me, but I don't say that it's a better game. They are both AWESOME in my opinion.

P.S. Can't wait for easter (24-Apr-2011)
