BMW celebrates its birthday! 97 years ago BMW started with creating aircraft engines, back then with the name "Rapp Motorenwerke", but had to re-think after they were forced to cease production by the terms of the Versailles Armistice Treaty. So they created the first BMW motor cycle in 1923 and in 1928 BMW went into car production acquiring the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach.
Today BMW can look back to a rich history of automotive history and under the name BMW Group also owns the brands MINI and Rolls-Royce.
