NFS C: Delayed release in Germany? (UPDATE) Wednesday, 11.10.2006
NFS CarbonAs it seems the release date of Need for Speed Carbon has been moved to 9th of November...initially November 2nd was planned.
It's not sure yet, if this only affects Germany, or all Europe...

As soon as we get response from EA, you'll get to know here.

Update:
EA acknowledged that the releasedate of Need for Speed Carbon is still October 31st in the USA, but it's still known if the possible delay only affects Germany (and possibly Austria and Switzerland) or all Europe...

NFS C: Minimum Systemrequirements Monday, 09.10.2006
NFS CarbonAt the end of September we got some information about the System Requirements of Need for Speed Carbon, which may surprised some people with older PCs.
Electronic Arts UK now published the minimum System Requirements, which differ a bit from the last announcement:

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
OS - Windows 2000/XP
Processor: 1.7 GHz or faster
Memory: 512 MB RAM
Hard Drive: 4.7 GB
DVD Drive - 8 SPEED
Video Card: 64 MB*
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible
DirectX - Version 9.0c
Online Multiplayer: 512 Kbps or faster; 2-8 Players
Input - Keyboard, Mouse
Optional: USB Steering Wheel / Dual Analogue Gamepad

*Supported chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti-4200 or greater (GeForce MX series not supported); ATI Radeon 8500 or greater. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. DirectX 9.0c is included on this disc and may require the latest drivers for your video and sound card. Notice: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some DVD-ROM, DVD-RW and virtual drives.

So instead of 1GB memory you'll only need 512 MB, but therefore 4.7 GB hard disk space instead of 3 GB. A nice note is the number of players for multiplayer: So you'll be able to play with 8 players in an online game, which is different to its predecessors, where only 4 players were the maximum.

Please note that the DVD drive is only needed in Europe. In America Need for Speed Carbon may will be released on PC-CD.

NFS C: PSP Developer Blog Friday, 06.10.2006
NFS CarbonThe onlinemagazine IGN wrote an article about the development ofthe PSP version of Need for Speed Carbon - Own the City and their developers:

If you've played or read the reviews for NFS Carbon Own the City (or NFS OTC as I like to call it,) you'll notice a couple of things. First, this game is REALLY different from Carbon on PS2 or the Next Gen consoles. There's an important reason for that and I'll get into that shortly. Second, you'll notice that NFS OTC is a lot bigger than our past NFS efforts on PSP (heck, we even built an entire open world just for the PSP!) there are reasons for this too that I'm going to get into down below.

NFS C: "Drifting sucks. Autoscultping rules." - IGN Friday, 06.10.2006
NFS CarbonThe onlinemagazine IGN tested the Xbox360 Demo of Need for Speed Carbon, which has been made available recently on Xbox Live Marketplace. Immediately they realized that the drift mode is not that fun, but therefore autosculpt is awesome...

The Need for Speed Carbon Demo drifted on to Xbox Live Marketplace, and it's clear that drifting sucks.

At least in the demo. On the second track, you race around, almost out of control, earning points for the amount of time you drift around corners, with a bonus for speed. Sadly, there is no bonus for slamming into walls uncontrollable, which is what I did all day. As you can tell, I'm not a big fan of the controls, a

The demo features three cars to choose from: the Camaro SS, Lamborghini Gallardo and my personal fav, the Mitsubishi Lancer from the muscle, exotic and tuner classes, respectively. The demo also shows off the awesome customization feature EA has dubbed "Autosculpting."

Autosculpting is the GameFace of cars, and probably the sweetest system of its kind in any car game. Using sliders, you can instantly morph your hood, tires, rims, spoilers, and whatever else you want until your Lancer looks exactly like you want it. It's, quite simply, hella tight.

Of the three races, there's the drift challenge (yeck), a basic circuit race and we didn't beat the drift so we are not sure what exactly it is. The graphics in the cutscenes are spectacular, but the in-game visuals weren't as hot, with fuzzy textures and some questionable lighting. They weren't bad, but they weren't as great as we're expecting. We'll see how it looks when Carbon hits the streets.

If you have a Xbox360 make yourself a picture of the demo...PC users still have to wait. :(
