Kill the time with BMW M3 Challenge |
Sunday, 16.09.2007 |
Need for Speed ProStreet is being released on October 31st, so there is plenty of time. At our german discussion boards some community members play the new freeware-game BMW M3 Challenge. The M3 Challenge was released by BMW to the start of the IAA (International Motor Show Cars) in Frankfurt, Germany. The game was developed by 10tacle Studios, who also made 'GT Legends'. In BMW M3 Challenge you get the possibility to test the new BMW M3 on the Nürburgring in Germany.
If you like the game, you should start training, because there will be an online-challenge, where up to 1000 drivers will race against each other, in order to get the title M3 Challenge World Champion. The winner will get great prizes, which will be announced soon.

NFS PS: Official website reloaded |
Thursday, 13.09.2007 |
Electronic Arts updated the official website of Need for Speed ProStreet. The website looks much more dynamic, but the content didn't change very much.
The biggest improvements are the Partner-News and the Showroom. In the Partner-News section you can find articles from famous tuner-websites like Import-Tuner, Compact Car, Super Street and Tuner. These articles contain intersting topics about car tuning like aerodynamics, motor tuning, boost controller or variable valve timing.
The second new section is the showroom, which is already know from Carbon. Currently it contains only screenshots from Need for Speed Carbon (and at least one picture which doesn't belong there ;)), but at least it's a foretaste on what EA might be planning with ProStreet and in which direction it will go.
You can find the official website of Need for Speed here:

NFS PS: Interview with Andrew Hahn |
Thursday, 13.09.2007 |
The onlinemagazine IGN was at the Games Convention Asia 2007 in Singapore and made an interview with Andrew Hahn, Producer at Need for Speed ProStreet. He doesn't talk about anything new - mainly the already known features of the game, like damage, smoke, the different modes and more...
In NFS ProStreet it's about mastering the different modes (Grip, Drift, Drag und Speedchallenge), in order to challenge and defeat the showdown-king Rio Watanabe.
An interesting note is the following though:
"Well, one of the main differences and philosophies in terms of development we've had this year has been that in previous years we've always developed on PS2 and Xbox first and then ported up so we could up-res everything. This year we're doing it in reverse; we've actually built the game for next-gen then ported down, and stripped away what we had to strip away to have it run on Nintendo Wii and PS2. It's actually made quite a visual difference."
