EA created a special Event Extravaganza for Need for Speed World! Always wanted to try the challenging race tracks which are only available for drivers with Level 50, or try out the toughest Team Escape events but still don't have enough Reputation to do so? Now is your chance!
For two days only, every single race event will be available to any Driver who is Level 2 and above. This means all Sprints, Circuits, Pursuit Outruns and Team Escape events! Tier restrictions (i.e you need a car which matches the event Tier in order to join) will still be applicable, but otherwise you are completely free to try out any event you desire. Rewards for these two days will be based on your current Driver Level, so you don’t have to be concerned about losing Rep & Cash or power levelling your Driver.
The "Race Now" feature will be disabled during this event, so you can make your event selections via the World Map or by driving up to the event icon in Free Roam. Get your friends and get ready to race!
Need for Speed The Run contains as in previous NFS games an extensive photomode, which allows you to shoot impressive photos during your race.
Reason enough for us to launch our new NFS The Run Showcase, where you can upload your pictures of the game and show it to the world!

Criterion Games working on the next Need for Speed?
Need for Speed The Run was just released and while EA Black Box was still working on the game, it seems like Criterion Games might be developing the next Need for Speed title.
Gamerzines found a suspicious job advertisement, where Criterion is looking for a "temporary Cinematic Artist". Apparently the job offer is described as working on the "world’s number one, multi award winning, arcade racing franchise"...sounds quite like Need for Speed.
We will see, how much can be interpreted in this job listing, but as it seems it might not be so far fetched, that Criterion Games is developing a successor of last year's successful Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
Need for Speed The Run was released today in the USA and will hit the stores in Europe on November 17th. Just in time a new Launch Trailer went online witht he title "From the Golden Gate to the Empire State":
