 Try Need for Speed The Run in your browser! In collaboration with Gaikai EA offers a java-based demo of NFS The Run, where the contents are rendered on servers in the cloud and streamed directly to your client in your browser!
The graphics are not all high.quality but the technique works surprisingly well and if you want to get a glimpse of the game without downloading X gigabyte of data, it's worth trying. (Not to mention that there is no demo of NFS The Run on PC, just Playstation 3 and Xbox 360...)

Need for Speed Most Wanted is available for preorder at Origin, where EA published the current system requirements for the game on PC. These requirements can still change, but they might give you a clue whether you might upgrade your PC or not: ;)

| NFS Most Wanted: Multiplayer |

EA revealed first information about the multiplayer in Need for Speed Most Wanted : players will have an open world, where you can meet up with your friends, screw around, compare cars, wreck each other, racing, explore the city looking for hidden gameplay, compete for fastest times, longest jumps, biggest drifts – whatever you want to do.
The Playlist Director serves up new challenges and shows them on the map, where you have to drive. Apart from the classic race we have the Speed Camera Challenge - where you try to reach the highest speed before the time runs out - and the Jump Event, where the longest jump wins.
Another event is the Team Race, where you try to get the best positions as a team.
The multiplayer mode is designed for non-stop playing, as there are no menues, which will hold you off from driving. Even after a race there is no lobby screen...after crossing the finish line you can park your car and relax while waiting for the others, or explore the world.
But you can also turn your car and crash into the other still racing participants, which can be quite useful in a Team Race to support your team members.

EA presented Need for Speed Most Wanted at the E3 press conference! Developed by Criterion (NFS Hot Pursuit) the will feature an open world, thrilling pursuits and challenging rivals. With Autolog v2you can challenge your friends and collect Speed Points with every action in the game, defining your rank in the Most Wanted list.

Designed for a new, more connected generation of racing fans, Need for Speed Most Wanted offers players an expansive open world packed with exhilarating action where they can choose their own path to become the Most Wanted. Players will have the freedom to drive anywhere, discover hidden gameplay, takedown rivals, challenge friends or just hang out and toy with the cops. Everything they do counts towards the end goal of becoming #1 on their personal Most Wanted List. Need for Speed Most Wanted will give players the freedom to race their own way when the game ships October 30, 2012. A special limited edition pack featuring double speed points, custom liveries, pre-customized rollouts and two vehicles: the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and Porsche 911 Carrera S will also ship on October 30, 2012.

The only rule in Need for Speed Most Wanted is to race without rules. It isn’t enough to be the Most Wanted amongst rivals and cops. Now players will fight for ultimate bragging rights amongst their friends thanks to Autolog. As the original inventors of the ground-breaking, friend-connecting Autolog technology, Criterion establishes once again a new standard in social competition by recommending gameplay challenges across a players’ social network within both single player and multiplayer game play. Need for Speed's Facebook page just brought some exiciting news for us: Need for Speed Most Wanted is officially announced! Here is the first screenshot of Criterion Games' take on one of the most popular titles of the Need for Speed franchise:
More information will be released during Electronic Arts' Press Conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles on June 4th.
