NFS PS: EA announces official releasedate |
Wednesday, 29.08.2007 |
Electronic Arts announced today the official release date of Need for Speed ProStreet: The game will be released in North America on October 31 and across Europe on November 1, 2007.
This is quite surprising, because in the last years Europeans had to wait at least a week after the release in North America until they could hold the game in their hands. It remains to be seen whether EA can stick to the date November 1st in Europe.
"The Need for Speed franchise has always been on the cutting edge of car culture," said Executive Producer, Larry LaPierre. "Street racing is getting more organized and Need for Speed ProStreet is our interpretation of where we anticipate the culture to be in three to five years. We're delivering on the ultimate proving ground, bringing you out of your neighborhood back alleys and on to the world stage. This is a next-gen game, packed with the raw intensity and visceral aggression that defines street racing at the highest level."
Need for Speed ProStreet will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, PC and Mobile.

Games Convention with new visitor record |
Monday, 27.08.2007 |
Yesterday the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany drew to a close and the hosters are happy to announce a new visitor record this year. Altogether 185,000 visitors came to the Leipzig Exhibition centre site over the course of the past four days (last year there were 183,000 visitors) to see and test the innovations displayed by 503 exhibitors. One significant point of note was the internationalisation of the fair. The share of foreign trade visitors rose to 43 percent. Also the media interest increased significantly: more than 3,300 journalists from 46 countries (last year there were 2,610 journalists from 38 countries) filed reports from the Games Convention. . 94 percent of exhibitors stated that they had achieved their fair target very well and well.
"The GC 2007 has exceeded all of our targets. A high degree of satisfaction can be seen, not only amongst exhibitors and trade visitors, but also amongst the general public. This result underscores once again why the GC, as Europe's leading fair in the industry, has an ideal home in Leipzig", said Josef Rahmen, Managing Director of the Leipziger Messe.
Apart from the good statistics of the convention it is still not clear what will happen with the Games Convention in the future. The current contract with the Leipziger Messe runs out in 2008 and the Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware (BIU) wants to decide in the following weeks, whether the contract is being extended or if the Games Convention will take place on a different location in the future.
