NFS PS: Interview with Krystal Forscutt |
Monday, 29.10.2007 |
The onlinemagazine IGN made an interview with Krystal Forscutt, who is together with Sayoko Ohashi one of the two NFS-Girls in Need for Speed ProStreet. Forscutt got famous as Big Brother contestant in Australia and has since become a regular model for the likes of Zoo Weekly, FHM and Ralph.
In the interview she talks about her role in NFS ProStreet, the photoshooting and her life after Big Brother.
Excerpt:
IGN AU: So what was the actual process of putting you into the game?
Krystal Forscutt: I think everyone's under the impression that they put me in some kind of body suit, but basically they just filmed me doing normal movements, like walking, jumping and raising my hands for the flag, because in the game, basically I'm just a flag girl. So yeah, they have to get all those sorts of movements down pat, and then I had to do some crazy expressions, so they could animate my face, like looking angry, happy, all of them. I think that my character in the game looks like she's pretty confident.
IGN AU: So there was no body scanning or anything like that? It was all just photos and film?
Krystal Forscutt: Yeah, just photos and film. I was under the impression that it would be a lot more hi-tech than that! Still, it seems like they've got me looking pretty realistic.
IGN AU: Yeah, I saw you in the game a few minutes ago actually, and restarted to have another look. The model looked pretty close. You're more than just a flag girl in this game though right? You appear in a few different scenes?
Krystal Forscutt: There are a few little skits, I think you'd call them. I saw one of them when I first got to play the game, and I was just leaning up against a car and there were a few guys taking pictures of me, and I'm all nonchalant about it, looking at my nails like 'I don't care'. Then this couple walk past and the guy's sort of looking at me, and the girl's like 'what are you looking at? Don't look at her!' and they have a little fight. There's no words, but it's like a little skit, it's really cute.

NFS PS: Career mode impressions at IGN |
Thursday, 25.10.2007 |
The onlinemagazine IGN played an almost finished version of Need for Speed ProStreet and summed up their impressions about the career mode and the game in a new article. Additionally they have a set of new screenshots, mainly showing the Nissan GT-R Proto.
Excerpt:
There's a total of 55 cars to be found in the game that range across a huge spectrum of performance. The tuning mechanics, which we've covered in-depth right here, let you tweak and change each and every ride in a multitude of ways. We managed to take a 2008 Porsche 911 GT2 and bump it up to over 1,000 horsepower. We then managed to take said rocket out to the track and record a 0-60 time of 2.19 seconds. If the game simulated the structural integrity of vehicles the car probably would have torn itself apart when we hit the gas.

Thursday, 25.10.2007 |
The Nissan GT-R was officially unveiled yesterday at the Tokyo Motorshow in Japan and is one of the biggest recent car launches. It also finds its appereance in the upcoming Need for Speed ProStreet. The January issue of the tuner magazine Import Tuner features an article about the game and the Nissan GT-R. We can already show you the exclusive cover shot of this issue. (Picture to the right)
Excerpt from the article:
"Dominate, kill the competition and take your driving skills to the next level. These are just a few descriptive words that submerge you deep into the realms of Pro Street’s career mode stages as your skills are put to the test in grip..., drift, drag and speed challenges, as you advance through a series of stages making your way past international competitors around the world, and finally coming face to face with the Street King himself.
“Pro Street is the next generation for Need For Speed. The one thing we wanted to redefine this year was the physics of the cars. Improvements on the visual aspects as well as the vehicles handing physics give Pro Street that raw feel and adrenaline rush that you get with every race you compete in,” says Michael Mann, senior producer of NFS."
Additionally as a titbit we can show you some new screenshots of the Nissan GT-R as well as a promo-video of the car.
