 The Gamerzines Blog created two new articles, where they give a little insight into the Career and Handling Options of Shift 2 Unleashed.
In the article about the career they talk about the progression within the career and what role the XP and driver level play.
Excerpt:
To increase your Driver Level you must earn XP, which you’ll earn by almost everything you do on the track. Sticking to the racing line, overtaking an opponent, drafting, completing race objectives (like beating a certain lap time or mastering all corners), beating Autolog recommendations and your finishing position are just a few of the things that will earn you experience points, and if you’re struggling to get past particular races it’s possible to go back over previous event to grind your level. You don’t necessarily need to beat a certain level’s events to proceed – if you earn enough XP, you’ll automatically unlock the next level.
Once you rank up you’ll unlock the next level’s events and a cash bonus, plus occasionally new vinyls, a new paint finish, new rims or a new car.
In the Handling Option article they list the handling presets in the game and which driving assists are enabled:

Shift 2 comes loaded with five different handling options: Novice, Normal, Experienced, Pro and Elite, each offering different handling presets. You can change them at any point you like, both in the game’s Career mode or in the options screen. Try each of them out until you find one you like.

EA announced the Soundtrack of Shift 2 Unleashed. In the game you will hear songs from famous bands like Jimmy Eat World, The Bravery, 30 Seconds to Mars and Rise Against:

Additionally EA announced that the composers Ramin Djawadi (e.g. "Iron Man"), Troels Folmann, Stephen Baysted and Mick Gordon, as well as the group Heavy Melody Music (e.g. "NFS Hot Pursuit") are working on the soundtrack of the game.

The system requirements of the PC version of Shift 2 Unleashed were already available  here for quite some time, but now it's official:
Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Windows XP (SP3), Vista (SP2), Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2,0 GHz/AMD Athlon X2 64 2,4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB or more
Graphics: DirectX 9.0c compliant 512 MB-graphic card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compliant sound card
HDD: 7.0 GB
Supported Peripherals: Keyboard, Mouse, supported controllers
Optional: USB Steering Wheel / Dual Analogue Gamepad
Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: NVidia GeForce 8 series or higher, ATI HD 3 series or higher.
Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required.
EA Download Manager Users require 8.16 GB additional space for temporary installation files.

| NFS ProStreet PC Servers shutting down |

 Need for Speed ProStreet, which was released in November 2007 seemed to reach the end of its life. The amount of traffic is now below 1% of all peak online players across all EA titles, and so EA decided to shut down the servers for NFS ProStreet (PC), so they can focus on newer titles for the other 99% of the online players.
NFS ProStreet (PC) servers are being shut down on April 15th, 2011!
