Thursday, 31.03.2011 |
The PC version of Shift 2 Unleashed contains some hidden videos, that are not shown in the game, but allows us to draw conclusions about possible DLCs.
There are trailers about a Drag DLC, Standing Mile Mode DLC and Legends DLC.
While the trailer of Drag and Standing Mile point to new game modes, the Legends DLC seems to be a car pack, including several classic cars:
- Alfa Romeo GTA 1600
- Austin Mini Cooper
- BMW CSL Gr4
- Ford Capri RS3100
- Ford Escort Mk1
- Ford GT40
- Jaguar E-type
- Lotus Cortina
- Nissan 240ZG
- Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R
- Porsche 911 Carrera RSR
- Porsche 914
- Shelby Cobra Daytona
At the moment it's not clear whether these will be free or paid content packs and if they are even available for PC users, but we will keep you updated.

Shift 2 Unleashed: First two mods released |
Tuesday, 29.03.2011 |
Shift 2 Unleashed isn't even available everywhere yet, but the first two mods are already available. As it seems the file structure didn't change too much from its predecessor Need for Speed Shift.
Tobias Kluge uploaded two mods on Racedepartment. The "No blur and wheel shaking in cockpit & helmet view"-Mod removes the blur and wheel shaking while driving with cockpit or helmet cam.
The "Reduced trackside bling bling"-Mod removes some of the generic overdone trackside objects (flags, tents a.o.), but only for tracks that were already available in Shift 1.
You can download the mods at Racedepartment, but unfortunately a registration is required:

NFS World: Team Escape Mode Details |
Tuesday, 29.03.2011 |
The new co-op mode Team Escape for Need for Speed World will be released this week and offers team-based pursuits with the police.
Now the first details about this new mode were announced:
Consider your battles against cops in single player mode as much needed practice. Now, get ready for intense co-op pursuits that will have you and your Need for Speed World friends at the edge of your seat. Experience 6 Epic Escapes that span across the world and feature multiple routes for you and your team to master. These pursuits are much longer than your average race event and can take up to 8 minutes. Your entire team must outrun the cops while evading the chaos to reach the finish line. Be careful though because cops now have new and improved tactics to stop you and your team.
Getting busted doesn't mean game over in the Need for Speed World free racing game. If a member of your team gets busted, your team will lose a Strike. Once a Strike is used, you will respawn back into the action after spectating your nearest teammate. If there are no strikes left, you will not respawn, however your teammates can still escape and any busted players will still get rewarded.
With the introduction of Team Escape come two brand new Powerups. Use Team Emergency Evade to save your friends from getting busted with a more powerful blast than regular evade. Play Team Slingshot to give your team a huge burst of speed so they can join your battle in the front.
To do something special for Team Escape, we built The Juggernaut, a custom Dodge Charger Super Bee SRT8 tuned specifically for the most intense pursuits. Juggernaut has explosive acceleration, smashes through roadblocks with ease, hits hard and is the cops' true nemesis.
